Can I post an ad that is relevant nationwide or online?

Yes, you can post ads that are relevant nationwide or online. During the ad creation, specify that the location does not matter to make your ad accessible to users looking for online or nationwide services.

How does the notification system work?

When creating an ad, you can opt to send notifications to users who have expressed interest in receiving updates from a specific area. Users can customise their notification settings to receive relevant updates.

What search capabilities does POLappka offer?

POLappka features an advanced search engine that allows you to search for any keyword within the ads. You can also modify the search radius to find local services or events.

Is there a moderation system for the ads?

Yes, all ads, especially the free ones, are moderated to ensure quality and relevance. Users can also report any issues with ads, which the moderation team will then review.

Can I extend the duration of my ad?

Yes, as an ad creator, you can extend the duration of your ad. Additional charges will apply.

How many free ads can I post?

Every user can post one free ad. Special customers may be eligible to post up to five free ads. The number of payable ads is not limited.

How do I become a special customer?

Special customer status may be granted based on your activity, the volume of ads posted, or through promotions. Watch POLappka's updates for opportunities to become a special customer.

Can I edit my ad after posting it?

Yes, you can edit your ad after posting it. However, the moderation team will review all edits.

Is POLappka available only in the UK?

While POLappka is designed for the Polish community in the UK, it can be accessed from anywhere. However, the ads and services target those living or interested in the UK.

Why must I pay to add my ad to POLappka?

Posting ads on POLappka requires maintenance resources. The fee helps cover the platform's costs, including the advanced search functionality, notification system, and customer support. It’s a premium service that provides a superior way of targeting Polish people than other means, like social media. 

Why are Services cheaper than Events, Jobs, and Rentals?

The pricing structure may reflect the expected demand, duration, and traffic generated by different categories. Services are typically ongoing offerings, whereas Events, Jobs, and Rentals might draw more immediate attention and interaction.

How do I get more free ads?

The initial offer includes one free ad for every user. Additional free ads might be available through special promotions, by becoming a special customer, or through referral programs.

Why are there two location settings?

The two location settings allow users to set up:

• A search capability. POLappka allows you to pick your current GPS location or fixed location. This allows you to manually choose a location and search a given area, for example, if you go on holiday.
• A notification setting. Here, you can choose your location and the distance from which you receive a notification from ads. You have complete control over what ad notifications you see. We recommend turning it on so you can see everything that is going on in your area. Keep the distance reasonably wide so you can access things in other places but still at a reasonable distance to travel. 

Why must I provide the location of the ad during its creation?

Providing your location helps personalise the ad experience, ensuring that users in your area can find your ad when searching locally. It also enables the notification system to alert nearby users about your ad.

How do I know what category to use when adding a new ad?

Choose the category that best fits the nature of your offering. For example, if you're promoting a business service, select 'Services'; if you're offering a concert or family picnic, choose 'Events'; if you're offering employment, select 'Jobs'; and if you're offering housing or space rentals, pick 'Rentals'.

What should I do if I want to search for ads in a different location?

You can manually change your current GPS location to a manually selected location in your account settings. This will position you anywhere in the UK, and all searches will be conducted with your selected location. 

Why does the slider allow only for 50 miles?

The 50-mile limit on the search radius slider is set to balance the breadth of the search with relevance to users. It keeps search results focused within a practical distance for most services and interactions. If you want to search further, change your location manually in Account Settings.

Why don’t online/nationwide ads have a distance?

Online or nationwide ads are not bound by location, so they are accessible to anyone regardless of distance, making it unnecessary to include a distance parameter for these ads.

Why is POLappka different from other social media?

POLappka specialises in classified ads and is specifically targeted to the Polish community in the UK, unlike general social media, which has a broader focus and different features and purposes.

Is POLappka a social media?

No, POLappka is not a social media platform. It's an app designed for posting and finding classified ads within the Polish community in the UK.

Will POLappka have any commercials?

Besides the fact that POLappka’s content is purely ads, we do not envisage adding pop-ups or third-party commercials. The aim is to have a clean, simple app for everyday use with no destruction. Cool, isn’t it?
